(From the KPA webmaster)
Ok, we're going to be moving the thekpa.org to a different hosting site in April or May of this year. In that process we'll be rebuilding the site completely. I would like to ask the membership for suggestions for what they'd like to see differently. I am not a web designer, so I realize the pages I've made on the site are terribly ugly. I don't intend to spent a lot of time on the design, but I will try to make it look nicer once we're set up with a permanent hosting place. If someone else wants to step in and help work on the design part, I would be more than happy to have the assistance.
One thing I do NOT want to do is have a stupid scrolling banner that takes up the whole page with photos. I think small photos, or a small scrolling thing would be Ok.
I think the new site should have separate pages for: - the immediately upcoming KPA conference (we've always had a page for this) - the KPR itself (we sort of had a page for this) - history of at least the last few KPA conferences - separate advocacy pages aimed at faculty, graduate students, and undergrad students (and maybe independent scholars) each telling them what the KPA, the KPA Conference, and the KPR could offer them. - a historical page on the KPR itself, with cover photos and stuff. - a page on the organization internals (which we had on the last site).
Any other thoughts, suggestions? Please post them here in this forum.
